Back Home

Although our mid-winter break trip to Pittsburgh was not as balmy as those trips to Florida, we still had a great time. When we arrived back home the river still had frozen edges and the air was still very cold. Before we left Dave's new barn was surrounded by white. At least when we returned much of the snow was gone from the yard. Spring is almost here - I just know it!

Chihuly Favorites

Here are a few (very few) of my favorite parts of the Chihuly exhibit. His paintings are almost as awesome as his glass works. I really enjoyed the floating flowerlike pieces on the black water. Everything was amazing - including the orchids in the botanical gardens. This exhibit will be taken down and moved somewhere else very soon. If it ends up near where you live, I highly recommend that you try to see it. The number of pieces in this series is unbelievable!

Our Golden Child

Magnus was such a good little man the whole time we were at Phipps. It took quite a while for us to tour all the gardens and he never squawked at all. He only asked to get out of the stroller a few times and didn't argue when we told him he had to stay put.

Bath Time Fun

I was able to spend some quality time with Magnus this past week. He really likes his bath! I finally had to drag him out because I was afraid he was getting too cold and pruney! I love his chubby little legs in this photo.

Visit to the Chihuly Glass Exhibit

Starting at the top: Mom and Magnus take a rest in one of the exhibit rooms; Erik takes a turn pushing Magnus as we tour the exhibit; Erik ventures outside to climb a large "rock" that looks like an elephant; Erik stands in front of a banana tree so we can get a feel for how big it is; this boat full of glass spheres amid "floating" spheres was one of our favorite parts of the exhibit. Magnus really liked all the colorful "balls".

Magnus loves his tricycle!

My dad got Magnus this tricycle - Magnus calls it his "bike" - for Christmas. He loves to ride it even though he can barely reach the floor. I just love all his little faces. In the top photo, Magnus is shushing great gramma. (It is only fair since she shushed him!)

Visit to Pittsburgh

We really enjoyed our visit to Pittsburgh. Pam and Christopher have a very spacious upstairs apartment in a grand old brick home on the west side of Pittsburgh. Magnus was a gem of a little guy all week, even though he was missing his mommy quite a bit. I hope he has adjusted to all the changes this past week and that he will be able to get back to normal now that his house has the right people in it.

We enjoyed our trip to the Conservatory and the Chihuly glass exhibit. It was awesome!

Keeping up...

It is difficult to keep up with all the technology that I am dabbling in these days. I will try to keep up better.

My Funny Valentine

I can't wait to go to Pittsburgh to visit my little guy. He is growing up way too fast!
