Littler Peanut

We got the word yesterday that the next grandchild will also be a little boy. We will take what we get, as long as it is healthy and happy like his older brother!

Middle School Track

Well, Erik has his second track meet under his belt. We have one more this week, at Union City on Friday. He is doing very well, although he doesn't think so. He only threw the shot put about 22 feet today, but I think he will get better if he gets some coaching. All of the throwers - boys and girls - need some help. He ran the 70 meter dash again today. He did not fall down! He came in second again. I don't think two second place finishes in two races is bad, but Erik does not want to come in second. That is good, I think, for him. Last Tuesday he ran in the 800 meter relay, but today they scratched that relay team and he ran in the 400 meter relay. He was the anchor man and did a good job trying to catch the lead runner, but ran out of track. Last week he came out of the blocks as the first runner in the relay. He is doing very well. I hope he keeps it up. He said he was surprised today that the coach was talking to him and kidding around with him. He gave him two whatever they call the knuckle bumps. Hope the weather holds out for Friday's meet. Tonight was gorgeous!

Finches

Opps! Here are the finches right side up - couldn't figure out how to do that in the other post!

Bird Watching

Spring break is almost gone and I will miss watching our birds out the window. We have many songbirds that visit each day. We also have a pair of purple finches making a nest in my wreath on the front porch. I caught them chatting on the roof this afternoon. Then I watched the cardinals, cedar waxwings, chickadees, etc. feeding in the back yard. It was nice enough to sit on the deck and snap photos. One last day tomorrow and then it's back to work. Erik will keep us busy with track meets starting April 12.

Erik and Moose

There is nothing like a body of water (and mud) to entice a boy and a dog to play. Erik and Moose were taking turns "fetching" sticks and frisbees all afternoon. I can't believe Erik could stand that cold water!!

Moose Invasion

Moose came to visit today. He brought Michelle and Ken. He is one leaping lizard of a moose-dog! He ran and ran and ran; and then he jumped into the creek - all four feet at the same time!

April Showers...

Well, they say April showers bring May flowers. We should have a bunch of flowers coming our way! The warm temps sure are nice, however.
