Hersha Reunion

Reunion Continued

Hersha Family Reunion

We had a nice turn-out for the reunion. This was the last year for it to be held at Barnes Park. Next year we are headed to Ohio, near Fayette. It will be just as much fun because the same people show up - give or take a few.

Family Reunion - Shepherd Side

Before we went up north for the Hersha family reunion, we got to see my Dad's family, too. We had a nice visit with most of my aunts and uncles, but didn't get to see Aunt Gladys, Aunt Virginia, Uncle Harold, or Bill Henry. Dad went to get Wendall, Uncle Frank, Aunt Sue, Aunt Mary (who is the spitting image of Gramma), Aunt Clara and Uncle Jacob all had a good cook-out at my Dad's house. In the group picture are Jacob, Wendall, Sue, Mary, Frank, Clara and Chuck (Dad).

Pudge Joins Our Family

Just before family camping north of Traverse City, we welcomed Pudge into our family. She came to live with us when she was just 5 weeks old, as her mother had weaned the litter (of 9!) early. She is a little sweetheart and was golden (no pun intended!) at the campground. It helped a lot that we got a good start at Aunt May and Uncle Barney's house. She was welcomed there just as we were. We love Aunt May and Uncle Barney - and Spike and Lady, too! Pudge has had two sets of shots and is not yet done with being poked. She rode very well all the way up north, but cried all the way to the Vet's office on Monday. She is still in the process of being house broken, but is doing well - most of the time. She has more than doubled in weight since her last visit to the Vet's before camping and weighed in at 12 pound and 3 ounces on Aug. 4. I can't wait to see how much bigger she is the next time, but I hope the doubling trend doesn't continue too long! (Michelle is holding Pudge and her sister, Punky, who went to live with them and is supposed to keep Moose happy. It's working - Moose thinks he's a mommy!)

Magnus Learns to Swim

Magnus is a quick study and by next summer will be paddling all over the pool. Actually, he is this summer, but with the aid of a life jacket that he will, finally, wear. He is getting better at getting his face wet and will soon be "splashing" with Uncle Erik.
