On-line Class

Well, I guess my online class will be okay after all.  Today I met a receptionist with a great personality and she made my day!  I now have a text for my class which should be here Thursday, and the software (thanks to my receptionist friend) package on its way - with no shipping charge!  Life as a student is looking better than last night...

Let it snow!

We got most of what they predicted.  I love the snow, but wish the cold didn't have to come with it!  Pudge really likes the snow.  She is just learning about this fluffy white stuff, and sometimes barks at it!  Here are some photos to give you an idea of how much snow we got.  It is still falling.  Magnus would love it if he were here today!  I guess they are getting freezing rain in Pittsburgh.  That's no fun for sledding.  Maybe tomorrow I will go outside and collect some "winter" shots for my Photoshop class that starts on Monday!

Missing You...

We sure do miss our little men.  Grampa wants to figure out how to get "Kitty Whiskers" off his start up screen and put up a photo of BOTH boys.  I'll try to help him later.  Here are a few of the photos from Christmas day that I enjoy.  Slide, Uncle Erker, slide!

On-line Class

It is official.  I am once again a student - only slightly so, however.  I am enrolled in an on-line graphic imaging class to learn about using Photoshop.  I am actually quite excited.  I am also a bit anxious, as I have never taken an on-line class before.  I anticipate that it will be quite strange to never "see" my instructor.  However, I have already had several e-mail conversations with her and she sounds like a really neat person.  She has already been to Alaska so we have a topic of interest to share.  She (and Pam) has assured me that I will not have difficulty with this course.  I hope they are correct - exams are next week and grades, etc.

One other interesting note...

While chatting with the gal that was registering me, I enquired about the possibility of teaching at the Hillsdale Center for JCC.  I was encouraged to apply for a position even if there was no position, because within the next 5 years there is going to be a 30% staff retirement at JCC!  I am very happy to hear that news!  I just may need a change from middle school by that time!  (or before if our schools don't figure something out soon...)

That was a good ending to a long, snowy day for me.  Let the 8-10 inches of snow continue.  I feel like sleeping in tomorrow anyway!  And now I have registering for classes out of the way...all I have to do now is wait to see if I need the newer version of Photoshop!  It's okay if I do, I'm a student now.  I get 85% off!!!

Card Party

The card party went well last night.  We had about 30 people downstairs to eat chili and cornbread.  Everyone brought goodies - even tho' they were only supposed to only bring what they wanted to drink - no one went hungry!  Bert's Texas sheet cake was my downfall -very good!  We had several tables of round-robin Euker (sp) going and one table of Hand and Foot.  I think everyone had a fun time!  Maybe I'll not do the August bash until January again next year!
